Modern approaches to recovery of lacking b-cell population with transplantation of allogenic islet cells, in vitro differentiated adult pancreatic progenitors or embryonic stem cells are considered. Possible pathways of in vivo tissue regeneration induction or immune correction in type I diabetes mellitus with bone marrow and cord blood stem cell therapy are analyzed.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В обзоре представлены современные концепции физиологической и репаративной регенерации b-клеток и островков Лангерганса поджелудочной железы при сахарном диабете I типа.
