Etiological factors are trauma, genetic disorders, and hormonal imbalance. One of the rare and underexplored forms of congenital growth disorders are hemimandibular growth abnormalities as unilateral condylar hyperactivity, hemifacial elongation, condylar hypoplasia. Unilateral condylar hyperactivity (UCH) is a self-limiting pathology of mandibular condylar bone tissue overgrowth, leading to functional and aesthetic maxillofacial disturbance. The aim of the study was to identify the pathological features of hemimandibular growth abnormalities. We performed diagnostics and treatment of 35 patients (7 male, 28 female) aged from 16 to 37 years with condylar hyper- and hypoplasia. In case of unilateral condylar hyperplasia symptoms we performed high partial condyleectomy as the first step of treatment. In all the patients temporo-mandibular joint function was restored and facial aesthetic was improved as a result of treatment. According to histological features we found the materials from all patients to be divided into two groups: without pronounced continued growth and with signs of enchondral osteohistogenesis. Histological features of the pathological process were detailed in each group.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Скелетные аномалии и деформации челюстей являются распространенными формами патологии челюстно-лицевой области и приводят к серьезным функциональным и эстетическим нарушениям. Этиологическими факторами, приводящими к возникновению асимметричных деформаций челюстей, принято считать травмы, генетические и гормональные нарушения. Одной из малоизученных нозологий являются суставные формы гемимандибулярных аномалий развития, ранее описанные как гиперплазия мыщелкового отростка нижней челюсти, гемифациальная гиперплазия, гемимандибулярная элонгация, односторонняя гипоплазия мыщелкового отростка нижней челюсти. Целью исследования стало выявление патоморфологических особенностей гемимандибулярных аномалий развития. В ходе исследования выполнили диагностику и лечение 35 пациентов (7 мужчин, 28 женщин) в возрасте от 16 до 37 лет, у которых наблюдались признаки гипо- и гиперплазии мыщелкового отростка нижней челюсти. Для диагностики использован полный спектр методов обследования, включая патогистологические. В случае наличия клинико-диагностических данных об активной форме односторонней гиперплазии мыщелкового отростка нижней челюсти первым этапом хирургического лечения проводили операцию частичной внутрисуставной резекции головки мыщелкового отростка нижней челюсти. В результате проведенного лечения у всех пациентов была нормализована функция височно-нижнечелюстных сустава и улучшены эстетические параметры. По результатам патогистологического исследования материалы от всех пациентов были разделены на две группы: без выраженных признаков продолженного роста и с признаки такового в виде энхондрального остеогистогенеза.
